Everyone in San Francisco can relax. Your nightmare is over; the city council has come to your rescue. Yes, Happy Meals will no longer be allowed in your city. I think we should all take the time to thank the fine city councilmen (sorry, councilpeople) for ridding this scourge from the community:
San Francisco’s board of supervisors has voted, by a veto-proof margin, to ban most of McDonald’s Happy Meals as they are now served in the restaurants.
The measure will make San Francisco the first major city in the country to forbid restaurants from offering a free toy with meals that contain more than set levels of calories, sugar and fat.
No longer will children be forced to partake in that horrible practice of eating something fun. Next up? Dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets.
