It was a treat to meet and listen to “Fox News All-Star” Stephen F. Hayes give a speech at the Illinois Policy Institute tonight. I ran into good friends from IPI, some of the scrappy folks at America’s Future Foundation – Chicago, and liberty-loving people from all over the Chicago area.
IPI put on a great event in the beautiful library at the top floor of their building in Chicago’s loop. Thanks for the invite!
Steve talked about his beloved Green Bay Packers, his love of getting back to the Midwest as often as possible, his tangles with Juan Williams (some intense finger-pointing towards chests have been involved) … and, yeah … the upcoming election. His prediction: Close Romney win. But, as we all know, there’s a long way to go. Bottom line: Steve believes that liberty and conservatism is on the ascendancy among the electorate. We’ll see.
Thanks to the anonymous lady who took my picture with the guest of honor. And it was great to talk to Steve about mutual friends in DC and the state of the “right” side of the current policy debates.
