The new HBO series “Newsroom” by celebrated lefty screenwriter Aaron Sorkin features “ripped from the headlines” plots – as long as the headlines were published two years ago.
It has produced an episode dealing with corporate speech and the Citizen’s United case. It calls out the Cato Institute and other allies for supporting the political speech of all corporations and not just media corporations such as HBO – entirely missing the irony.
