Climate Catastrophism Picking Up Again in the U.S. and Across the World

  • by Tom Harris

The climate alarmists just won’t quit — at least until the government funding runs out. An update:

October 9, 2012: “Global Warming Spurs Extreme Weather, Most in US Believe“, by Jeanna Bryner, LiveScience, U.S.A.

The majority of Americans think global warming is not only affecting weather but is also worsening extreme weather events, including record-high summer temperatures and the Midwest drought, a new survey released today (Oct. 9) finds.

Read whole piece.

This is the geographical breakdown of that poll:

Northeast 194   18%
Midwest 239   21%
South 380    36%
West 248   23%

How does this compare with the populations in each region? I am suspicious when I see such high numbers for people in the Midwest where the droughts were, and in the South where the heat was. I have asked the survey coordinators about this.

It is not just that poll that indicates the fight for climate realism has a long way to run. See the following article that summarizes how the climate scare is alive and well and continuing to cost billions while putting the energy supplies of developed countries at risk:

October 2, 2012: “If you thought the climate scare was winding down, think again.”

From California to the U.K., New Zealand to Ireland, British Columbia to Australia, Japan to Germany, the situation is, once again, deteriorating. In the past few weeks, we have been witness to a full court press by climate campaigners and their main stream media allies.

For the past 10 years, Harris has been working intensively with a growing team of independent scientists and engineers to promote a sensible approach to a range of energy and environmental topics, climate change in particular. His main focus has been the highly controversial science underlying these issues. Along with Professor Bob Carter of James Cook University in Australia, Harris coordinated the open letter from 100 top climate experts to the Secretary General of United Nations during the Bali Climate Change Conference in December 2007.
