David Legates is a climatologist and professor of geography at the University of Delaware. He previously served as Delaware’s state climatologist and was the former Director of the Center for Climatic Research at UD.
David discusses the persecution he has received at UD for not backing off his views. Legates discusses how he came to be a climate skeptic, some of his research on climate models including his recent Science Bulletin paper co-authored with Willie Soon, Lord Christopher Monckton and William Briggs and how he, among other climate researchers, have come under attack from Rep. Raul Grajalva (D-AZ) at the behest of environmentalists for testimony and peer-reviewed publications which called into question claims made by White House Science advisor John Holdren and the IPCC concerning the theory that humans are causing catastrophic climate change.
Legates describes his and his university’s response to Grajalva’s witch hunt and the support he and his fellow scholars have received from the broader scientific and political community.
