With John Nothdurft out, Government Relations employees Arianna Wilkerson and Charlie Katebi join Donny Kendal to present episode #133 of the In The Tank Podcast. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s podcast features work from The Heartland Institute.
Policybot Featured Work of the Week
This week’s Policybot featured work comes from the The Heartland Institute. In light of the ongoing public debate about the 2nd amendment, we are currently putting together a booklet titled “The Patriot’s Guide to Freedom and Firearms.” This booklet, a republication of Chapter 6 of the Patriot’s Toolbox provides facts that counter many of the popular claims from opponents of the right to bear arms.
Arianna, Charlie, and Donny also discuss the recent NYT’s article titled “Repeal the Second Amendment” by former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
More Think Tank Works
Prior to the Policybot featured work, they talk about the state of health care in the county. A new report from the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers suggests that insurance companies are regaining profitability. Arianna and Charlie explain what policy implications this report carries.
Last, Donny asks the duo about a proposed law in New York City that would prohibit smoking cigarettes while walking down city sidewalks.
