Donny Kendal is joined by Justin Haskins in episode #166 of the In The Tank Podcast. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s episode features work from The Heartland Institute and the Pacific Research Institute.
Donny starts off the episode with a discussion about how the liberals and conservatives view people on the opposite side of the political spectrum. Do you see your political opponents as ignorant? Evil? potentially redeemable? And how does your view change the way you interact with said opponents?
Axios – Exclusive poll: Most Democrats see Republicans as racist, sexist
In the first main section of the podcast, Donny and Justin talk about the “Green New Deal.” This potential legislation would mandate the United States switch to 100% renewable energy by 2035. They talk about how impossible this goal would be and whether the advocates of this plan actually think they can get it pass Congress.
Heartland Institute – Democratic Candidates Increasingly Pushing to Stop All Fossil Fuel Use
In the last section, Donny and Justin talk about Amazon’s HQ2. It was recently announced Amazon selected New York City, New York and Crystal City, Virginia as homes for their new HQ. To lure Amazon to these cities, representatives offered the retail giant billions of dollars in subsidies and tax breaks.
Pacific Research Institute – Los Amazon? Not.
