Aside from a few Baghdad Bob impersonators in the White House and over at HHS, few people seem to be arguing that the performance of the online exchanges has been successful. It could be about to get a lot worse.

So far, the regulations coming out of Health and Human Services are not encouraging. As you might expect, the regulations are being written by people with nice bureaucratic jobs and steady paychecks. They have no idea what it is like to scramble to make ends meet.
What Obamacare has given us instead is, in the Tribune’s words, a “complex system that relies on computers to share data with the Internal Revenue Service, state tax offices, Medicaid, Medicare and other agencies in order to verify customer information.” To paraphrase Jay Leno, what could possibly go wrong?
