Bill went where the data led him, especially when it came to the frequency of hurricane activity due to man-caused, CO2-driven global warming. Point of fact: Bill said Al Gore’s filmed prediction of AGW causing more hurricanes was nonsense. Bill, not Al, was proven right.

Maybe The Heartland Institute never stood a chance against Peter Gleick, because DOJ already made up its mind that alarmists are the “good guys” and realists are the “bad guys” in the global warming debate. Maybe Gleick had political protection from the White House. Maybe political bias trumped justice?
This week, Heartland Institute President and CEO Joseph Bast joined the Unbiased America show to talk about the new book, Why Scientists Disagree About Global Warming. Unbiased America is a weekly video podcast featuring a panel of several liberty-minded individuals who strive to “create a platform for discussion and debate.” Bast dismantles the claim that 97% or scientists have arrived at a consensus that man is causing catastrophic global warming.
Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, Heartland Institute President Joe Bast will give a live-streamed presentation that was a huge hit at CPAC last week – “Never Again Lose a Debate with a Climate Alarmist: Why Scientists Disagree About Global Warming.” About 150 people crammed into a room to fit only 111 to hear Joe talk.
In recent months, left-wing activists have hijacked The Heartland Institute’s profile at Wikipedia, removing objective descriptions of our programs and publications and replacing them with lies, errors, and outright libelous claims. Our efforts to correct the site have been rejected by the editors of the self-described “free encyclopedia.” Can you help?
This is almost unspeakably sad. Bob was the very embodiment of the “happy warrior” in the global warming debate. He was a scholar’s scholar, with impeccable credentials (including a Ph.D. from Cambridge), careful attention to detail, and a deep understanding of and commitment to the scientific method. He endured the slings and arrows of the anti-science Left with seeming ease and good humor and often warned against resorting to similar tactics to answer them.
Dr. Mann is clearly committed to labeling folks like me “deniers,” which doesn’t really bother me, so long as everybody is clear about what is being denied. What do scientists (and I’m just a lowly chemist, not an exalted climatologist or anything) like me deny? Let us review.
The Heartland Institute sent a delegation of climate scientists and other expert to Paris in early December to attend the United Nations’ 21st Convention on Climate Change (COP-21), at which time they conducted a counter-conference, held news conferences, and attended official and unofficial events in Paris.
PARIS (December 6) — The Heartland Institute, the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), and members of the “Cooler Heads Coalition” are hosting a one-day event in Paris that will[…]
In episode #11 of the In The Tank Podcast, Hosts Donny Kendal and John Nothdurft discuss this week’s big news stories. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, roundtable discussions, stories, and light-hearted segments on a variety of topics on the latest news. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday.
After a successful trip to Rome this spring to combat climate alarmism, The Heartland Institute is now setting its sights on the COP-21 – the twenty-first meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris next month. And we request your help!
Interesting that National Geographic choose to title its latest edition “Cool It.” That’s the same as the title of Bjorn Lomborg’s 2007 book, which asks environmentalists to cool down their hot rhetoric about man-made global warming. Pity the folks at NatGeo didn’t read it.
Bernie Sanders is trying tried to divert attention from his bumbling performance in the recent Democratic Party presidential debate by making false and incendiary accusations that Exxon lied about global warming. Sanders claimed on national television that Exxon’s alleged lies likely broke the law and Exxon should be charged by the Obama administration with racketeering.
The Heartland Institute, CEO, Joe Bast, celebrated its 31st anniversary with a reception and dinner at The Cotillion in Palatine, Illinois, on Thursday, October 8, 2015. Since 1984 Heartland has devoted itself to supporting individual freedom by discovering, developing, and promoting free-market solutions to social and economic problems.
Klein’s greatest strength is recognizing that nothing less than the abolition of capitalism will achieve the drastic reductions in emissions her side is calling for … and she’s willing to say it out loud. I love that about her. The leaders of the environmental movement, who pretend this isn’t about ideology and that “stopping” climate change would be costless, hate her for revealing this.
The Tenth International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC-10) was hosted by The Heartland Institute, Joe Bast, President, on June 11 – 12 at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, DC. The two-day conference featured more than 40 scientists, economists and public policy experts who shared the most up-to-date information on topics related to climate. Several of the outstanding conference speakers included U.S. Senator James Inhofe, Mark Steyn, Lord Christopher Monckton, and John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel.
I report tonight with shock and sadness that long-time Heartland Institute policy advisor Alan Caruba has passed away. Alan was a patriot, an online entrepreneur, and a brave and tireless writer. We were honored to publish his work at this blog, and to call him a friend.
