Dr. Chad Mathis joins The Heartland Institute to discuss his campaign for Congress in the state of Alabama. Mathis is also a surgeon, so he has a lot to speak of in regards to Obamacare; an issue that is increasingly concerning among the citizens of Alabama.
Mathis decided to run for Congress after hearing the endless concerns from his community regarding Obamacare and their ever-growing disbelief in the American Dream. Mathis sat down and read the Affordable Care Act (a truly heroic act, considering…) and was appalled. He plans to fight it if he wins. He also has his own health care reform in mind; health savings accounts (HSA). HSA’s erase the middle man in health care exchanges, they allow people to spend their own money, and they are patient-centered- allowing patients the choices that should be theirs.
Along with fighting Obamacare and promoting HSA’s, Mathis wants to crack down on government spending. He explains that we need to grow the economy, and we need government to get out of the way in order to make that happen.
