In today’s episode of The Heartland Daily Podcast, Managing Editor of Budget & Tax News Jesse Hathaway is joined by Commonwealth Foundation Vice President of Policy Analysis Nate Benefield. Hathaway and Benefield discuss a new bill being proposed in the Pennsylvania legislature, the Taxpayer Protection Act.
The Act, if passed into law, would restrict the growth of the state’s spending, keeping spending increases in line with population increases and the rate of inflation. According to Benefield, the Taxpayer Protection Act will help slow down the state government’s spending spree, hopefully stemming the tide of Pennsylvanians leaving the state that has been seen over the past few decades.
