John Nothdurft and Donny Kendal present episode #68 of the In The Tank Podcast. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s podcast features work from the Mackinac Center, the Heartland Institute, and Learn Liberty.
Policybot Featured Work of the Week
This week’s featured work comes from the Mackinac Center. The study titled “An Analysis of State-Funded Tourism Promotion,” dissects the rosy return on investment promoted by Michigan’s tourism agency. Mackinac used data from 48 states over the course of several decades to show that the real return on investment is far less rosy than Michigan’s tourism agency would lead you to believe.
Other Think Tank Works
The next item is an article from The Heartland Institute. A part of a series of reports titled “Roadmap for the 21st Century,” Donny and John talk about a portion of this report dealing with health care issues. The report outlines the changes that could help reform the health insurance and unleash the power of the free market.
The last item comes from Learn Liberty, a project of the Institute for Humane Studies. With the release of the new Star Wars movie, Learn Liberty published a series of videos promoting liberty, using Star wars as the backdrop.
