John Nothdurft and Donny Kendal present episode #100 of the In The Tank Podcast. This weekly podcast features (as always) interviews, debates, and roundtable discussions that explore the work of think tanks across the country. The show is available for download as part of the Heartland Daily Podcast every Friday. Today’s podcast features work from The Heartland Institute, and the National Center for Public Policy Research.
Better Know a Think Tank
In this week’s segment, John and Donny welcome to the show Joseph Bast, CEO of The Heartland Institute. Joe talks about his role in founding the Heartland Institute and insight into the evolution of think tanks over the past 30+ years. He also talks about climate change and what his plans are for after retirement.
Policybot Featured Work of the Week
Today’s Policybot Work of the week comes from the National Center for Public Policy Research. The report, titled, “Al Gore’s Inconvenient Reality: The Former Vice President’s Home Energy Use Surges up to 34 Times the National Average Despite Costly Green Renovations,” reveals just how much energy Al Gore uses. Even after spending close to $500k on making his home more energy efficient, Gore still uses an exorbitant amount of energy.
Other work in the World of Think Tanks
To celebrate the 100th episode of the In The Tank Podcast, Donny and John discuss some stats about the show. They also award a few lucky fans a few prizes for writing in to the show.
