Tuesday’s Florida primary delivered a surprise Socialist winner in their Democrat gubernatorial primary.
The history to which this excited-yet-somehow-unbiased headline refers – is Gillum’s melanin count. Gillum is black – and were he to win the general he would be Florida’s first black governor ever.
I am also quite sure he would be Florida’s first Socialist governor. And as a Florida resident – it is that history-making which concerns me.
Sanders – is Vermont Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders. The electoral leader of the country’s latest moronic Socialist groundswell. Sanders enthusiastically endorsed Gillum.
It almost certainly wouldn’t have been enough – were it not for the other two heads of the monster: Leftist billionaires Tom Steyer and George Soros.
Steyer was especially, enthusiastically generous.
Because Steyer is a chief proselytizer and huge funder of the fake religion that is Global Warming…oops, I mean Climate Change. And Gillum is totally on board as a fake climate science acolyte:
“Andrew believes that climate change is a real and urgent threat….Andrew believes that the best way to address the impacts of climate change is to embrace a plan to transition Florida to clean energy as rapidly as possible. Achieving this goal will put us on a path to a completely clean energy economy….”
“Clean energy” – is an alternate phrase for “green energy.” Which, ironically – is neither green nor energy.
The “green energy” sources – solar, wind, ethanol, etc. – are actually demonstrably worse for the environment than the sources – oil, natural gas, coal, etc. – the Left seeks to eradicate.
And these “green energy” sources – are horrendously expensive sources of energy. They each cost orders of magnitude more than the traditional sources Leftists don’t like.
Neither green – nor energy.
Which brings up yet another “green energy” problem. Because it is so catastrophically expensive – it requires hundreds of billions of government dollars to keep it afloat. It is a massively subsidized crony-government boondoggle.
Even with all of this massive government money – our usage of fake energy is barely over 12%. Imagine the trillions of government dollars it will take to get here:
And Steyer funds Next Generation America – which demonstrates he is even less in touch with Reality:
“A plan to power America with more than 50 percent clean and carbon-free energy by 2030 will put us on the path to a 100 percent clean-energy economy by 2050.”
And of course Steyer is doing all this for the good of the planet – from the goodness of his heart. Right?
“Steyer claims to be a man of principle who has no financial interest in the causes he supports, but acts only for the public good. That is a ridiculous claim: Steyer is the ultimate rent-seeker who depends on government connections to produce subsidies and mandates that make his ‘green’ energy investments profitable….
Oops. Steyer also is hedging his hypocritical fake energy bets:
“He also is, or was until recently, a major investor in Kinder Morgan, which is building a competitor to the Keystone pipeline.
Steyer is, in fact, a titanic hypocrite:
“Steyer owes his fortune in large part to the fact that he has been one of the world’s largest financers of coal projects. Tom Steyer was for coal before he was against it.”
Undaunted, Gillum remains the dutiful acolyte – incredibly crony, and steadfastly impervious to math and Reality:
“I have consistently and vocally opposed big oil pipelines of the past like The Keystone XL Pipeline and The Sabal Trail Pipeline. These pipelines are not only an antiquated relic of an old energy system, but they’re a massive threat to communities of color, which are disproportionately affected by oil pipeline plans.
“As Governor, I would use every lever of power I have to fight these pipelines at the federal and state levels. I believe that Florida needs a massive transformation of its clean energy industry.
“In Tallahassee, during the same week that Donald Trump was withdrawing us from the Paris Climate Accord I was breaking ground on a 120-acre solar farm that will triple my City’s solar energy capacity. I will push for an expansion of these clean energy programs to more areas of our state.”
Except – as is always the case, Gillum’s fake energy efforts as Mayor didn’t pan out as planned. So Gillum did what all Leftists do when their plans fail – he lied his face off.
“For months on his campaign website, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum took responsibility for shaving Tallahassee’s carbon footprint in his short time as mayor.
“’Under his leadership, Tallahassee reduced its carbon intensity by roughly 40 percent,’ a post under the environmental issues page said.
“We wondered how Gillum accomplished this eye-popping statistic in just three years. But if you check the website now, you won’t find that claim.
“The Gillum campaign rolled back the talking point after PolitiFact Florida started looking into it, replacing it with a broader talking point that still leaves some questions unanswered.
“There is no evidence that supported a carbon cut of 40 percent under Gillum’s watch.”
Oh – and like Steyer, Gillum was for real energy before he was against it.
“As a Tallahassee city commissioner in 2005 he voted for Tallahassee to join a group of cities and public utilities to build a $1.5 billion coal-fired power plant in north Florida.”
Global Warming…oops, I mean Climate Change – is the Greatest Scam on Earth.
Which has begotten all sorts of scams within the Scam. Fake energy – “green energy” – perhaps chief amongst them.
This is what happens when government starts picking losers at the expense of winners.
(Government doesn’t “pick winners and losers” – because winners don’t need to be picked. Good ideas – are good ideas. No one needs to subsidize ice cream.)
If we stopped government involvement in energy – and just let the free market determine which sources we use – none of this nonsense would be happening.
And we wouldn’t have to listen to Tom Steyer.
And we wouldn’t have to vote against Andrew Gillum.
