California – the Golden State that hasn’t been golden in decades. And has for decades been under the near total control of the Democrat Party. These two things are not unrelated.

There is in Indiana (and elsewhere) no religious freedom “tension” with respect to their Religious Freedom Restoration Acts. There is only government dramatically overreaching. The Constitution mandates government make no law abridging the freedom of religion. The Constitution mandates government its own self treat everyone equally before the law. The Constitution does not empower the government to mandate that every individual treat every other individual equally.
We were on February 26 subjected to the hugest of Barack Obama Administration Internet power grabs. Where the Administration unilaterally decided to start applying 1934 landline telephone law to the 21st-Century-Web.
This government grab was made under the guise of Network Neutrality – but this flashback-to-New-Deal phone law is oh-so-much-worse. The Administration has appointed itself the overlord of just about every private sector decision, transaction and innovation.
The Farm Bill is a bane of we Conservatives’ existence – and Reality-based policymaking. It is a relic of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR)’s horrendously failed New Deal – a top-down, central-planning nightmare mess.
The huge-er government gets – the greater its ability to deliver cronyism goodies. The bigger the wallet government has – the larger the regulatory hammer it wields – the more Crony Socialism it can dispense.
The GOP wants the Silicon Valley’s love. And by love we mean the millions of donation dollars that currently go mostly to Democrats. And sadly, it appears some Republicans will go to nearly any length to curry some of that coin.
As we know – America’s media is for the most part decidedly Leftist, often befuddled and rarely right. So when they wade into an intricate issue like President Barack Obama’s Net Neutrality Internet power grab – we can only expect even more Leftism, befuddlement and wrongness.
We are (thank God) in the fourth quarter of the Barack Obama Administration. Our long national nightmare is more than three-quarters over.
That’s the good news. The bad news is – everyone in the Barack Obama Administration knows it too.
This waning Administration is in the pummel-the-private-sector business. And there is arguably no tentacle of the federal Leviathan better equipped to do it than the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). After all – it’s the EPA’s sole reason for being.
I was at the just concluded Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on a panel entitled “The United States of Google: Big Data and Big Government.”
During which Scott Cleland and I examined amongst other things the seemingly endless Crony Socialist ties between all-everything mega-company Google and the Barack Obama Administration.
The Barack Obama Administration’s Thursday Internet uber-power grab is awful for just about every American. It will lead to dramatically more expensive Web access – because of both raised service costs and huge new taxes.
Thursday is for freedom a very bad day. That is the day the free speech-free market Xanadu that is the Internet will be unilaterally seized by the Barack Obama Administration.
Per the President’s demand, the allegedly independent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is pretending to be Congress – and writing new Web-regulating law for themselves. And on Thursday they will vote on it – and thereby grab expansive, broad and deep overlording powers.
You’ve heard the phrase “patent trolls,” yes? Certainly not a positive sounding term. I mean – trolls? How positive an image does that conjure? The Media are almost always opposed to all things good. So when they with near unanimity help promulgate a term – you need to (re)contemplate its definition.
For governments everywhere, taxes and regulations are like Lays Potato Chips – no one can eat just one.
In part, of course, because governments’ appetite for taking our money and controlling our lives is insatiable. It’s their nature.
And because government intervention just about always makes things worse.
President Barack Obama has a repetitive tic when it comes to his myriad power grabs.
The President knows if he is straightforward about his plans to government-ize every sector of the economy – said plans will be even less popular than they already are. (Hello, November election.)
So he likes to cite successful private sector endeavors as alleged, though-actually-antithetical visual aides for his government takeover model. He heaps praise upon them – and then announces he is going to bury them with government.
To best delineate why Net Neutrality is so terribly bad, behold the following video. In which is laid out the worst portions of Net Neutrality – and the Marxist reasons why the Left wants it done.
